2017 ACT Annual Scientific Meeting – The Art of Anaesthesia

Saturday conference

The Saturday lecture series will held in the BAE Systems Theatre within the Australian War Memorial, commencing at 8.30am (registration from 8am). The War Memorial is located on Treloar Crescent in Campbell, minutes from the CBD. There is unrestricted parking at the memorial on weekends and it is also serviced by a regular bus route from the city (Route 910). The Saturday program will conclude at 4.55pm with the Last Post Ceremony at the Pool of Reflection.

Important information for entry to the memorial on Saturday morning
The main doors of the memorial do not open until 10am so you must use the side access door into the Reg Saunders Gallery (also referred to as the Western Courtyard entrance). Please click here to view a map of the memorial side entrance. You will not be able to access the conference through the main door of the memorial before 10am. A security guard will be stationed at the side entrance to the conference and may ask to conduct a bag inspection. Your co-operation is appreciated.

Sunday workshops
The two Sunday morning workshops will be held at Calvary Hospital, located on Mary Potter Circuit in Bruce. Calvary Hospital is approximately 10-15mins from the CBD and you will need to organise your own transport to the venue. If you are attending the lunch and winery tour on Sunday afternoon a charter bus will take to you and from the vineyard, picking up from Calvary Hospital at 11.30am and returning (via the airport) from the vineyard at approximately 2.30pm.

The CICO workshop will be held in the hospital theatre complex, and the anaphylaxis workshop will be held in Lewisham Building in the ANU and ACU clinical rooms.

Sunday social events

For those attending the private tour of the War Memorial on Sunday morning please meet your tour guide, Retired Wing Commander Sharon Bown, at the main entrance to the memorial at 10am.

The tour will last for approximately 1.5 hours. For those attending the winery tour and lunch afterwards at nearby Mount Majura Vineyard, the charter bus will pick up from War Memorial at 11.45am and return from the vineyard at approximately 2.30pm (via the airport on the return journey).
