Anaesthesia training in the ACT – meet and greet

On Thursday June 14, The Canberra Hospital (TCH) will host a meet and greet afternoon for those wishing to enter the anaesthetic training program in the ACT. Our Supervisors of Training (SOTs), as well as representatives from the local rotational hospitals, will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about the training program. Please join us from 2-4pm in the Department of Anaesthesia, Level 3 Building 12, The Canberra Hospital. RSVP is essential, please contact Dr Natalie Marshall on 0418 479 997.
 

ANZCA is responsible for the training, examination and specialist accreditation of anaesthetists and pain medicine specialists in Australia and New Zealand. To learn about the ANZCA anaesthesia training program please click here. To learn about rotation and training sites please click here.
 
In the ACT there is a single selection process for registrar positions on the Rotational Training Program.

Positions are advertised in July each year for commencement in January of the following year, or May for commencement in August of the same year if positions become available mid-year. Selection interviews are usually conducted in early September for short-listed candidates (or July for mid-year intake if applicable).

When available, the positions will be advertised on the ACT Health website here. Inquiries regarding entry into the ACT Rotational Training Program can be made to the Department of Anaesthesia and Pain Management (TCH), or the ANZCA Education Officer.

Applicants must have Australian citizenship or permanent residency status (this includes New Zealand citizens and permanent residents) or have an Australian working visa with current experience as a medical practitioner in Australia.
