NT ACE Conference 2019

Join us in Darwin on Saturday June 1, for the biennial Northern Territory Anaesthesia Continuing Education (ACE) conference.

Guest Speakers

We welcome keynote speaker Dr Robyn Gillies, Chief Medical Information Officer Consultant Anaesthetist, The Royal Melbourne Hospital who will present “Malignant Hyperthermia: changes in presentation and updates in diagnosis and management”.
Other speakers include Dr Tom Grosser-Kennedy presenting “Exercise induced malignant hyperthermia”, Dr Anna West presenting “Hot updates in obstetrics”, Dr Rachel Ng “Hot off the pharmacy shelf: new medications in diabetes”, and Dr Nicola Delany speaking on “Temperature control in OT: Does it matter?”

Emergency Response Workshops

Delegates will also have the opportunity to improve their practical skills while meeting the ANZCA CPD requirements in CICO or ALS. Only one workshop will be available to each delegate and as numbers are limited, separate registration is required to attend.

A nursing workshop "Blood Sports" is also available to nurses during the afternoon workshop sessions. The cost to attend the nursing workshop is included in the registration fee.
Participants in the ANZCA CPD program may claim the CICO/ALS course as an emergency response activity in their CPD portfolio.

Clinical Audit Session

Get your category 1 CPD points! At this meeting we will present the collated results of an attendee generated clinical audit of peri-operative temperature management. All attendees are invited to submit data from 20 patients.

Data is to be submitted here.

This CPD activity will meet the criteria for "clinical audit of own practice", one of the mandatory items in the practice evaluation CPD category. Audit survey will close May 28, 2019.

Continuing professional development

This conference is claimable by ANZCA CPD participants: Knowledge and skills lectures – one credit per hour. Members will automatically have their attendance accredited to their CPD portfolio following the meeting.
