Melbourne Winter Anaesthetic meeting

Join us for the Annual Victorian ACE meeting at the Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, Melbourne on Saturday July 27, and Emergency Response Workshops on Sunday July 28.

Along with the meeting and Emergency Response workshops there will be a Quality Assurance component that can attract additional CPD points, see details below.

CME program

The program on Saturday will feature three plenary lecture sessions followed by a quality assurance session. The first three sessions include a pain session, several presentations on obstetric and crisis anaesthesia and more. The fourth session changes format and for the first time at this meeting will be run as a quality assurance session with several case presentations of critical incidents, followed by small group case discussions and a group summary. See below for further information on the QA component.

For a list of the presenters and topics see the program flyer here

Quality Assurance component

For the quality assurance component held in the final session: after the presentations the room will break into small groups for case discussions. This is an opportunity for delegates to discuss their own cases with colleagues in a small group environment.  The Quality Assurance session will be two hours duration comprising short case presentations and discussion, followed by small group case discussions and a 30 minute summary session to close, incorporating discussion from the small groups.
IMPORTANT: Delegates should come prepared with a case of their own to discuss in small groups during the session.

Emergency Response Workshops

The following workshops will be held in the Victoria Suites, Sofitel Melbourne on Collins, on Sunday July 28:
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Major Haemorrhage
  • Obstetric Haemorrhage

There will be two sessions and each of the workshops will be running consecutively within each session, thus enabling the option to complete two of the three workshops should you wish.
