Associate Professor David Scott
David Scott is associate professor and Director of Anaesthesia at St
Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne. His clinical interests include
regional anaesthesia, acute pain management, vascular and cardiac
anaesthesia. He has researched and published extensively in these
areas, especially with respect to acute pain management techniques and
regional anaesthesia. David has also completed a PhD in the area of
neuropathic pain. His current research interests are neuropathic pain
in the acute postoperative patient and cognitive outcomes following
anaesthesia. David worked as a final examiner for the College for 12
years and was chair of the Final Examination Committee for three years.
He has served on the executive and was chair of the Cardiothoracic,
Vascular and Perfusion Special Interest Group. David is a past member
of the Australian Drug Evaluation Committee of the Therapeutic Goods
Administration (TGA). He was elected to the ANZCA Council in 2008.
