Professor Kate Leslie
Kate Leslie has been the President of ANZCA since May 2010. She trained
in anaesthesia in Melbourne and works as a staff specialist and Head of
Anaesthesia Research at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Her clinical
interests include neurosurgery, colorectal surgery and sedation for
endoscopy. She is an honorary professorial fellow in the Department of
Pharmacology at the University of Melbourne and is active in clinical
research. Kate joined the ANZCA Council in 2002 after eight years on
the Victorian Regional Committee. She has served as chair of the Annual
Scientific Meeting Committee (2002-2004), the Communications and
Fellowship Affairs Committee (2002-2004), the Research Committee
(2004-2008) and the Training Accreditation Committee (2008-2010), as
the honorary treasurer (2004-2008, 2009-10) and as vice president
(2008-2010)
