About ANZCA
The Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (ANZCA) has a proud record of promoting professional standards and patient safety in the many areas of anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine. It does this through education in the science and practise of anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine.
The scope of its practise is outlined in its Constitution and Mission Statement, and its objectives are identified in its triennial strategy. The 2010-12 ANZCA Strategy was reviewed and updated by the ANZCA Council in August 2009.
The 2009 Annual Report is now available.
The College has developed a Code of Professional Conduct (
135 kB) that outlines the professional behaviour and standards expected of Fellows of the College.
The College is proud of its history, and continues to evolve to meet the demands of the profession and the patients it serves.
A major initiative undertaken in 2006 was the launch of the ANZCA Foundation, a vehicle for funding critical research in anaesthesia, pain medicine and perioperative medicine.
In 2007, the College adopted a new logo to complement the traditional College Arms and Crest.
