TGA averts penicillin shortage
Australia's national medicines regulator has found another source of penicillin to avert a shortage of the drug in Australia.
Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) national manager Rohan Hammett said the regulator had found supplies from overseas that would avoid a possible shortage of the drug. It was reported this week that there was an acute shortage of intravenous penicillin (benzylpenicillin CSL - BenPen).
