Managing Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma Courses
The Managing Obstetric Emergencies and Trauma (MOET) Course is an advanced emergency management and resuscitation course devised by and for anaesthetists and obstetricians. It is designed to improve knowledge, skills and confidence in dealing with serious and life-threatening conditions in obstetrics.
MOET is a three day course, which combines lectures, emergency drills, scenario training, small group workshops and demonstrations to teach and reinforce knowledge and skills acquired by the candidates. A high instructor to candidate ratio ensures good support and learning. There is continuous assessment of progress during the course, as well as an MCQ and scenario testing on the last day. The course is comparable to the Early Management of Severe Trauma (EMST) course and
Advanced Paediatric Life Support (APLS) course.
