Conflict of Interest policy
At ANZCA’s October Council meeting, a Conflict of Interest policy was approved. The purpose of the policy is to provide guidance in identifying and handling potential and actual conflicts of interest involving the College and its activities.

New assessment processes - International Medical Graduate Specialists
ANZCA Council has agreed to a new process for the assessment of International Medical Graduate Specialists (IMGS). The new IMGS process, which becomes effective from January 1, 2009, has been redesigned in consultation with the Australian Medical Council , the Medical Boards and Government

“Developing Strategies for Effective Clinical Supervision”

 Aims of the Workshop

This workshop aims to assist you in structuring your approach to teaching and learning in a clinical context. The content of the workshop will be informed by three main questions:

  • What is my role and what are my responsibilities as a clinical supervisor?
  • What knowledge, skills and attitudes do I need to teach the trainees under my supervision?
  • How do I give trainees feedback on their performance?

09.30 – 11.00       (Session 1) The Clinical teaching environment and specific challenges and strategies

11:00 – 11:30       Morning Tea                   

11:30 – 13:00       Workshop (Session 2) Negotiating objectives that are specific to the clinical environment 

                              and practical to implement

13:00 – 14:00       Lunch

14:00 – 15:30       Workshop (Session 3) including wrap-up: Giving feedback in the clinical setting
