MOPS Overview

The Maintenance of Standards Program was initially introduced in 1995 and was revised as the Maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS) Program in 1999.

For information regarding the types of activities and MOPS points available, please view the program manual.

The principal objective of the MOPS Program was to foster continuing scholarship in order to maintain a high standard of clinical practice.  Thus the principle role is educational and the Program validates continuous medical education (CME), quality assurance (QA), and other self-improvement educational activities.

From MOPS to CPD

In 2008 the ANZCA Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Program was introduced to replace the Maintenance of Professional Standards (MOPS) Program.

The CPD Program has been devised to promote and implement proven and accepted education standards, strategies and tools to assist Fellows and Non-Fellows to plan and participate in CPD activities that meet their learning needs, to improve their practice.

Further information on the CPD Program can be found on the CPD pages.
