Rural Anaesthesia Recruitment Service
Objectives
RARS was established to assist rural areas to fill vacancies, not only long term positions, but also the full spectrum to locum tenens with the assistance of a Federal Government grant from the Rural Health Support Education and Training (RHSET) organisation.
- To improve the recruitment of permanent staff to rural areas, and thereby improve provision of Anaesthetic services to these areas.
- To provide short-term locum relief for Anaesthetists in rural areas.
- To raise awareness in the profession of the possibility of rural practice as a career choice.
- To establish an Australia-wide network to enhance services for rural Anaesthetists and their patients.
How to Register
RARS is aimed at Specialist Anaesthetists and JCCA registered General Practitioner Anaesthetists. All potential Recruits must be registrable as a Specialist Anaesthetist or General Practitioner Anaesthetist in Australia.
If you are an Overseas Trained Specialist who is not currently registered to practice in Australia, please click here for further information.
Specialist and JCCA registered Anaesthetists are asked to register with the RARS with the view to take long or short term positions, including locum tenens in rural areas.
