Getting to Lorne
It is with great pleasure I invite you to attend the inaugural ‘Airway Weekend’ of the Airway Management Special Interest Group to be held from the 19th – 21st March 2010 at the Mantra Erskine Beach Resort, Lorne. Lorne is a popular beach resort town, located on one of Australia’s most scenic coastal routes, the Great Ocean Road.
The academic programme will be of interest to the ‘enthusiast’ and the Anaesthetic Trainee and will consist of lectures and a workshop day. Please note that workshop numbers are strictly limited so be sure to register early.
The guest speaker is Dr Peter Charters from the Difficult Airway Society and Aintree Hospital in Liverpool, UK. Dr Charters’ interests include ENT anaesthesia, the Bonfils scope and Airway contingency planning. Dr Charters was also instrumental in setting up the ADAM web site for difficult airway planning and the design of the Aintree catheter.
A welcome reception will be held on the lawns of the Mantra Erskine Resort and the conference dinner will be held at the spectacular Grand Pacific Hotel. The hotel was built in 1875 with superb ocean views in one of the most unique settings on the coast, overlooking the township, surf beach and the Lorne Pier.
I look forward to seeing you in Lorne!
