Airway Conference 2012
Airway Management Special Interest Group
'Everything airways: Airway problems outside the OT'
Mantra Erskine Beach Resort, Lorne, Victoria, March 9-11, 2012
REGISTRATIONS - NOW OPEN!
The 2012 Airway Management Special Interest Group (SIG) Conference will be held in Lorne, Victoria from March 9-11.
The theme of the conference is “Everything airways: Airway problems outside the OT”.
The two international guest speakers will be Dr Paul Phrampus, who is well known in US for simulation and training of emergency physicians and paramedics in airway control, and Dr Josef Holzki, a German paediatric anaesthetist who questions the role of cuffed ETTs in children.
I hope that Dr Holzki’s views will spark some interesting debates on paediatric airway problems.
Other topics which will be covered include: problems in the recovery room and the immediate post operative period in the wards; airway problems encountered during resuscitation at the roadside and the beach; emergency room and ICU airway problems.
The workshops will reflect the theme of the meeting and will be expanded (because of demand) compared to the previous two meetings and will include the popular fibreoptic (basic and advanced), cricothyroidotomy, double lumen tubes (basic and advanced) and bonfils.
I look forward to seeing you in Lorne!
Dr Chris Acott, Co-convenor
Dr Louisa Heard, Co-convenor
Dr Zoe Lagana, Co-convenor
