It is with great pleasure that the Faculty of Pain Medicine, in association with the Acute Pain Special Interest Group of ANZCA, ASA and NZSA invite you to attend the third Spring Meeting. The event will be held at the Sofitel on Collins in Melbourne from 16 - 18 October 2009. The theme of the meeting is 'Duelling with Pain'.
This stimulating and practical program will be presented by a faculty of international and national speakers who will highlight the challenges we face in managing the spectrum of complex acute, chronic and cancer pain problems. In particular there will be an emphasis on the growing knowledge base surrounding pain medicine and addiction medicine. The program will encompass discussion around dealing with difficult patients, advances in management of acutely painful procedures and new advances in intrathecal analgesia.
This multidisciplinary faculty will show how input from anaesthetists, acute and chronic pain clinicians and palliative care specialists, nurses, general practitioners, psychiatrists, surgeons and addiction medicine specialists may lead to better patient outcomes. The program will challenge participants to expand their horizons to better manage pain in a broad spectrum of patients and settings.
Melbourne is a wonderful city to visit in spring, with the racing carnival, wonderful theatre, restaurants, shopping precincts and parks. Our social program will give you the chance to experience an insider's view of Melbourne.
Our thanks are extended to our sponsor and exhibitors for their generous support of the meeting.
