ANZCA has new CEO

Mr Nigel Fidgeon is the new chief executive officer of ANZCA. He is an experienced CEO and senior executive at health services and hospitals in Victoria.

Mr Fidgeon was most recently chief executive officer of Merri Health, one of the largest independent registered community health services in Victoria, and prior to that was the chief executive officer of the Nurses Board of Victoria. He has also held senior positions at the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and Box Hill Hospital.

He has a strong record of strategic leadership and management expertise in complex health and human service environments spanning public, private, and regulatory organisations across multiple locations and states, with sophisticated complex stakeholder management acumen.

“Having worked closely with the medical profession throughout my career I am looking forward to joining ANZCA,” Mr Fidgeon said.

“ANZCA has a strong reputation in Australia and New Zealand and I look forward to leading this prestigious organisation in the months and years to come.”

Mr Fidgeon started on Monday October 7 and has replaced Mr John Ilott who announced his decision to leave the role earlier this year.
