ANZCA Committee vacancies

Applications are invited from all fellows for the following committee vacancies: Professional Affairs Executive Committee, and Scholar Role Subcommittee.

Professional Affairs Executive Committee – membership vacancy

Do you have a keen interest in what the college is doing for its fellows? Are you interested in being a voice for the fellows?

Nominations are being sought for a New Zealand fellow of ANZCA and/or FPM to sit as a voting member on the Professional Affairs Executive Committee (PAEC). Dr Martin Minehan, a New Zealand fellow has resigned from the PAEC and this has led the vacancy. Expressions of interests are open for all New Zealand fellows.

PAEC reports to council on matters pertaining to the fellows of the college including fellowship, safety and advocacy, professional affairs and learning and development.

PAEC strives to achieve adequate representation in relation to gender, SIMG, urban/rural areas, public practice/private practice, states and territories of Australia, and New Zealand. This diversity will be considered when selecting a new member.

The selection process will be conducted via an expression of interest. Please forward a curriculum vitae in addition to a one-page statement outlining why you wish to be considered for this committee to Jan Sharrock, Director, Fellowship Affairs, by August 30, 2019.

All applications will be assessed on the written application and a telephone interview with the chair of PAEC.

Ideally duties will commence around October 2019 with the successful applicant attending the PAEC meeting on Friday November 22.

For any further queries please contact Associate Professor Leonie Watterson, Chair of PAEC or Jan Sharrock Director Fellowship Affairs.

Scholar role Subcommittee – fellow representative sought

Expression of interest is sought from ANZCA fellows from the South Australia/Northern Territory region for membership on the Scholar Role Subcommittee (SRSC). This subcommittee is involved in assessing the Scholar Role component of the ANZCA curriculum. The SRSC reports to the Education Development and Evaluation Committee (EDEC) and hence the Education Executive Management Committee (EEMC) and the ANZCA Council.

The Scholar Role Subcommittee also provides support to departmental scholar role tutors and contributes to education resources and publications relating to the scholar role. The subcommittee meets at least three times a year, either face-to-face or via teleconference.

Inquiries should be directed to Dr Irene Ng, Chair SRSC, through the Scholar Role Support Officer – email or call +61 03 9510 6299.

To apply, please email us with a brief curriculum vitae and a one-page statement outlining your interest in participating in this committee by July 30.
