ANZCA Media Award winner

The 2014 ANZCA Media Award has been won by Michael Sexton from ABC TV's 7.30 program for a story about chronic pain.         

"Chronic pain", won the award for the best news story or feature about anaesthesia or pain medicine that appeared in the Australian and New Zealand media in 2014.  


Mr Sexton’s report aired in February last year and looked at the personal, social and economic burden of chronic pain, which affects one in five people but remains broadly misunderstood.


Mr Sexton’s report was selected from among entries across print, radio and television media. The media release can be seen here.
