Committee vacancy – apply now

Nominations are sought from Fellows to fill a vacancy on the Professional Affairs Executive Committee. Applications should be submitted by June 29.
Fellowship representative: Professional Affairs Executive Committee (PAEC)
ANZCA is governed by the ANZCA Council, which sets the direction of the College and ensures it achieves its objectives. The Council reviews and approves the annual strategic plan and budget, and develops and monitors key performance indicators and other benchmarks.
The ANZCA Council is assisted in achieving its objectives by several committees. Each year, the council confirms the appointment of office bearers, committee chairs and membership nominations.
A vacancy now exists on the Professional Affairs Executive Committee (PAEC) and nominations are now being sought for a Fellow of ANZCA to sit as a voting member on this committee.
PAEC advises ANZCA Council on matters relating to the fellowship, policy and advocacy, and community development. By way of example, issues that the committee has considered recently include workforce (including rural workforce), conscious sedation, assisting a colleague whose professional practice has raised concerns, physician assisted dying, continuing professional development (CPD), returning to work after a period of absence, and both the fellowship and graduate outcomes surveys.
The committee strives to achieve adequate representation in relation to urban/rural, public practice/private practice, states and territories of Australia, New Zealand, gender, and SIMG.
The selection process will include consideration of individual applications, and an interview process if necessary.
Ideally duties will commence around July 2017, including participation in the following scheduled committee meetings:
  • July 20, 2017
  • November 17, 2017
To express an interest in the role please forward a CV in addition to a one page statement outlining why you wish to be considered for this committee to the General Manager, Fellowship Affairs, Jan Sharrock by Thursday June 29, 2017.
