Pain education for professionals

The FPM Better Pain Management program has been designed for both specialist and general practitioners as well as others.

Medical students, nurses and allied health practitioners engaged in the care of patients with persistent pain will also benefit from Better Pain Management.

The Better Pain Management program has been developed by FPM Fellows and other experts in specific areas relevant to pain management and has been contributed to, supported or endorsed by the following partnering organisations:

  • Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.
  • Australian Pain Society.
  • Painaustralia.
  • Australian Federal Government through it's Department of Health.
  • Australian Medicare Locals Alliance.

FPM trainees and Fellows may find these modules to be a useful resource for consolidating their learning. They may also find the program helpful in extending an interest in pain topics.

Completion of this activity by ANZCA Fellows may accrue continuing professional development (CPD) points (or may be cited as evidence of satisfying CPD requirements) under category 2.

This program is not considered a relevant CPD activity for FPM Fellows.

Better Pain Management can be found on Networks under pain medicine learning.
