General Comments
The date, time, venue and duration of your presentation will be indicated on the letter of acceptance. You may email your presentation to the organisers in advance of the meeting. Otherwise, you should bring your presentation to the Speaker’s Preparation Room well in advance of your talk, but during the last break before your session at the absolute latest. You should arrive at your venue, introduce yourself to the session chairmen and familiarise yourself with the audiovisual facilities at least five minutes prior to the start of the session.
Chairmen have been asked to enforce the time limit on your talk. It is anticipated that you will have a maximum of seven (7) minutes for your presentation followed the three (3) minutes discussion. Please ensure that your presentation does not extend past this timeframe.
Slides
All slides and videos used to support presentations at the ASM will be digital. The preferred software will be Microsoft PowerPoint. Please note carefully that presenters will not be able to use their own computers for their presentations and dual projection will not be available.
In preparing your slides, please pay special attention to:
- Correcting spelling mistakes
- The choice of colour scheme for background and text
- The font size chosen (i.e. no smaller than 20 point)
- Avoiding detailed tables and diagrams
You should bring your presentation to the meeting on a CD, USB, portable hard-drive, or other portable medium, even if you have previously emailed it. The AV personnel will copy your presentation onto networked computers in the Speaker’s Preparation Room. For extra security, please remember to pack more than one copy of your presentation.
Traditional slides and overhead projection will not be supported in the Scientific Program.
If your presentation contains digital video, be sure to present to the Speaker’s preparation room in a break several sessions before your talk.
