Obtaining Specialist Recognition & Vocational Recognition

Medical Practitioners who have trained in Intensive Care Medicine outside Australia and New Zealand and who are seeking specialist recognition in Australia, or Vocational Registration in New Zealand, must contact the Australian Medical Council (AMC) or the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) in the first instance.

The OTS policy outlines the Joint Faculty's process of assessment of overseas trained specialists, and results in recommendations to the respective Councils as to whether a specialist should be recognised.
