Changes to Trainee administrative processes
Beginning in November 2007, the College will introduce a number of important changes to the administrative processes associated with the ANZCA Training Program.
These are designed to streamline the paper-based nature of most current administrative processes.
Changes will be rolled out over the next 12 months and are designed to make the most of ANZCA's new online functionality.
| Process | Description |
|---|---|
| Trainee Registration (by early Dec 07) |
In early December 2007, new applicants to the Training Program
will be able to complete their registration online. Applicants will
still be required to submit hard copies of key documents (e.g.,
certified copies of birth certificate, medical registration, medical
qualifications) but the registration form and payments can be completed
online. |
| Annual Training Fee and Deferred Training Fee payments (by early Dec 07) |
In early 2008, trainees will be able to make payments online and receipts will be generated automatically. Data on the Annual Training Fee form will allow the College to identify where the Trainee is in the course of his/her training and also allow the College to more accurately predict the number of new Fellows graduating in future years. A BPay facility will be added for Australian-based trainees early 2008 |
| Trainee Profile (by early Dec 07) |
In early December 2007, Trainees will also be able to view their current
training profile, detailing all key stages of their training. This
provides the Trainee with a record of all documentation received by the
College. The Trainee Profile contains such information as registration date, examinations and modules completed, ITAs and AVTs submitted, payments made, prevocational education and training experience, etc. This information is confidential and will only be available to the individual trainee with a secure log on. Should the information be incomplete or inaccurate, the Trainee can contact the College directly to update his/her details. Appropriate documentation will need to be supplied. |
| Primary and Final Examinations Applications (by March 08) |
Application forms will be available online by March 2008. The new
online application process will check that all criteria for sitting the
examinations have been met. If any documentation is outstanding, this will be flagged, and provide the Trainee with the opportunity to update his/her information. |
| In-Training Assessments - ITAs (by Aug 08) |
The ITA form will be placed online and mirror the current process.
Electronic signatures will be required from the Trainee and Supervisor
of Training. |
| Annual Vocational Training Forms - AVTs (by Aug 08) |
The existing process for completing an AVT form will largely be
disbanded. Once the Trainee has accumulated 12 months of ITA training
experience with appropriate authorisations from the SOTs, an AVT letter
confirming completion of the Training Year will be generated and sent
to the Trainee with electronic confirmation to the relevant SOTs. The Trainee will be assumed to move into the next training year, with checks done after Basic Training Year 2 to ensure that all prerequisites for starting advanced training are in place. The Trainee will be notified of any outstanding requirements. |
Should you have any queries relating to any of the above changes, please do not hesitate to contact the Examinations & Training Unit.
