National Pain Strategy launch

The launch of the initial draft of the world-first National Pain Strategy took place in Melbourne on Sunday October 18, 2009, the final day of the Faculty of Pain Medicine’s Duelling with Pain meeting. The strategy, which can be found at www.painsummit.org.au, is now open for community and expert input.

The aim of the strategy is to have the management of pain addressed as part of the Rudd Government’s national health reforms. The strategy can be found at www.painsummit.org.au where feedback can be left.

Professor Michael Cousins, chair of the National Pain Summit steering committee did several interviews after the launch.
