Resources

The College has a wide range of resources aimed primarily at its members, i.e., Fellows and Trainees, but also available to the public interested in anaesthesia or the practice of anaesthesia.

Our Corporate section contains a Library that members can use to access a wide range of specialist books and publications; a best-in-class Anaesthesia Museum; and Archival facilities that preserve the rich history of the College and the profession.

ANZCA actively encourages research in the areas of anaesthesia, intensive care and pain medicine.  Each year it reviews research applications and awards research grants to promote the advancement of the specialty.

It also maintains a series of professional documents for use by anaesthetists to assist them in their practice.  These take the form of professional standards, guidelines and technical specifications.

The College regulations, by contrast, outline the administrative and operational policies and procedures of the College and cover the broad range of activities for which the College is responsible, e.g., the training program, election to fellowship, awards and scholarships, regional committees, annual general meetings.

The section also contains list of books and publications of interest to anaesthetists and a comprehensive list of acronyms to help identify the many interest groups, organisations and abbreviations used in the profession.

Finally, from time to time the College receives notification of positions available for Trainees and Anaesthetists which we place on the website for the convenience of our members.
