This world leading document, endorsed by the NHMRC, IASP, and many national and international bodies, provides the scientific evidence for the practice of acute pain management. This document contains the most up-to-date science and practice on acute pain management. Of equal importance, there is much new information about the effective management of acute pain as a preventive strategy to reduce the risk of progression to chronic pain. Hard copies of this publication have been circulated to all ANZCA and FPM Fellows and trainees. This document aims to help health professionals work with patients to manage acute pain effectively and safely.
