Preface
My first duty as the new editor of Australasian Anaesthesia is to thank the outgoing editor,
Dr John Keneally, for his wonderful contribution in producing eight editions of this book.
Without his leadership, and that of his co-editor for several editions, Dr Michael Jones, production
of this book would not be achieved. My job as a new editor has been made easy because
of the support from the team at our College; especially Juliette Mullumby and Christine Gill.
Thanks must go to the Regional and Faculty Sub-editors for their encouragement and to the
authors themselves; who have generously given their time to write.
Australasian Anaesthesia
contains a diverse range of topics of interest to anaesthetists, intensiveall Fellows and Trainees will find items of interest within. This edition has several themes:
drugs, education and non-technical aspects of our specialties. Please know that these papers
will be available on the College website and that supplemental material will be available for
downloading by Fellows and Trainees.
