E-Learning
The Education Development Unit has created a series of e-learning resources for ANZCA trainees and Fellows.
Podcasts
ANZCA’s Education Development Unit has produced a series of podcasts, which may be downloaded or web-streamed at any time. The content of the podcasts has been provided by ANZCA Fellows to assist ANZCA trainees preparing to sit the ANZCA final examination. Other podcasts included in this section have been recorded as part of ANZCA's monthly education seminar series and provide broader content that may be of interest to other trainees, Fellows, ANZCA staff and medical education experts. The seminars cover contemporary topics in medical education and inspired with current educational initiatives and directions. To see the podcasts, click here.
Final examination education resource
Trainees preparing for the ANZCA final examination may find it helpful to review the Final Examination Preparation Resource. This online resource provides insights into the exam process and also focuses on what happens on the day. It includes examples of ‘mock’ vivas to demonstrate ways in which you can optimise your performance on the day.
Interactive webinars
The Education Development Unit coordinates monthly interactive webinars for ANZCA trainees. A webinar (commonly referred to as a web conference) is a lecture or training session that is transmitted over the internet.
In 2009, the College introduced webinars as a teaching tool for trainees preparing to sit the ANZCA final exam. This new technology is used to complement the recently introduced podcasts. Trainees are encouraged to view podcasts before they participate in a webinar so that they have sufficient background knowledge to engage at the highest possible level making the best use of the presenter's expertise. During the hourly webinars, trainees are able to engage with online presenters in real-time and participation is easy provided that participants have a computer with access to the internet and speakers.
