Regulation 11
ROBERT ORTON MEDAL
The Robert Orton Medal was established by the Faculty of Anaesthetists, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, in 1967.
11.1 The award is made at the discretion of the Council of the College, the sole criterion being distinguished service to Anaesthesia.
11.2 Nominations for the award of the Robert Orton Medal shall be considered at any Council Meeting.
11.3 All nominations shall be made in writing, formally proposed and seconded by two members of the Council, and submitted to the CEO at least 30 days before the Council Meeting.
11.4 Each nomination shall be accompanied by a curriculum vitae of the nominee.
11.5 The Council will vote on the nomination by secret ballot.
11.6 No award shall be made unless three-quarters of the members of the Council present vote in favour.
11.7 Nominations rejected by the Council may be reconsidered if formally proposed and seconded at a subsequent Council Meeting.
