Reg 22 Formal Project Prize

  • 22.1 The Formal Project Prize shall be awarded to the Trainee or Fellow within 1 year of award of the Diploma of Fellowship who is judged to make the best contribution at the Formal Project Session held as part of the Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM). This Session will only be open to Trainees or Fellows to present material related to their Formal Project as defined in Professional Document TE11.
  • 22.2 The Prize will take the form of a medal, and be accompanied by a certificate recognising the achievement.

  • 22.3 Eligibility for the Prize will be limited to current or past registered trainees in Anaesthesia who fulfil the criteria set out in Regulation 22.1.
  • 22.4 The Chair of the Education and Training Committee (ETC) shall chair the Formal Project Prize Session and appoint three adjudicators for the Prize, one of whom may be the Chair of the ETC. The Adjudication Panel shall be chaired by the Chair of ETC or his/her nominee. When appointing the Adjudication Panel, conflicts of interest must be identified and managed according to ANZCA Policy.

  • 22.5 If, in the opinion of the adjudicators, no presentation attains a sufficiently high standard, the Prize will not be awarded.
  • 22.6 The ASM Scientific Convenor will select presentations for the Formal Project Session on the basis of the submitted abstracts. Presentations will take the form of a ten minute paper which must be based on the topic of the Trainee's Formal Project. Performance during five minutes of discussion will form part of the adjudication criteria.
