Reg 7 Annual subscription

Note: Dates in italics flag the dates of recent changes to the regulation, e.g., 10/04 indicates a change made to the following paragraph in October 2004.
7.1 Pursuant to articles 3 and 4 of the constitution, Fellows of the College are required to pay an annual subscription.
7.2.1 Active Fellows are those in independent specialist anaesthesia practice, which includes provision of specialist anaesthesia services, specialist consulting, medico-legal practice and other specialist non-procedural and non-clinical work, such as administration, teaching and research.
7.2.2 Fully retired Fellows are those who have ceased practising all forms of clinical medicine, medico-legal work and other specialist non-procedural and non-clinical work such as administration, teaching and research.
7.3.1 Notwithstanding regulation 7.1 ANZCA Council may remit the whole or part of the annual subscription payable by a Fellow.
7.3.2 Conditions under which concession of the annual subscription may be granted are as detailed in regulation 7.4 and set out on the annual subscription notice.
7.3.3 Concessions are granted under one category only, as applicable, and are not cumulative.
7.3.4 Concessions as detailed in regulation 7.4 are applied prospectively on an annual basis.
7.3.5 Fellows wishing to apply for concessions should forward complete details in writing to the ANZCA Finance Unit.
7.4 Concessions are detailed in the following table:

|2.||Active Fellows aged 65 and over practising any form of medicine.
|3.||Active Fellows under the age of 65 years practising medicine but not practising anaesthesia, intensive care medicine, pain medicine or related disciplines.||50%|
|4.||Fully retired Fellows.||0%
|5.||Active Fellows working fulltime in a voluntary or humanitarian role where the income is relatively low.
|6.||Active Fellows working no more than two clinical sessions per week, pro rata over one full year, including Fellows engaged in full-time College-funded or College-approved research or Fellow engaged in full-time training for fellowship of another Australian and/or New Zealand specialist medical college/faculty, or other relevant higher educational qualification.
|7.||Active Fellows permanently resident outside Australia and New Zealand.
|8.||Active Fellows permanently resident outside Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia after five years of residency outside these countries.
|9.||Fellows who hold fellowship of ANZCA and FPM, whose practice is 100 per cent pain medicine (that is, who do not practice anaesthesia).
7.5 The provisions of regulation 7.4 notwithstanding, special consideration may be given to those on extended leave (for example, maternity, carer's, sick, compassionate) or in circumstances of financial hardship. Such consideration may include deferral of payment and/or concessions (applied prospectively for a minimum period of three months). Fellows should direct enquiries in writing to the ANZCA Finance Unit.
7.6 Non-payment of the annual subscription may lead to withdrawal of fellowship by Council. ANZCA Council may announce to the public generally or to any professional body or organisation, the fact that an individual has ceased to be a Fellow of the College.
