The Harry Daly Research Fellowship was established by the Faculty of Anaesthetists, Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, in 1981.

The Harry Daly Research Award may be made in any of the categories of research awards made by the College provided the project is judged to be of sufficient merit.

19.1   The award shall be made only to:

a)   Fellows who are senior investigators

b)   Fellows or registered trainees of the College who are formally involved as research students in a recognised research team.

19.2   The research shall be carried out in Australia or New Zealand.

19.3   Applications must be made on the prescribed form.

19.4   The Council shall, from time to time, appoint a panel of adjudicators from among whose numbers the President may call on those most appropriate for the application under consideration.

19.5   The final decision on the award shall rest with the President who shall report the decision to the October Council.

19.6   Finance available for the Fellowship may be shared, allocated in part, or not awarded on the advice of the President and adjudicators.

19.7   A full report must be made to the College annually and on completion of the research project.

19.8   The contribution of the College must be acknowledged in all publications and presentations of the research project.

19.9   The recipient must comply with the requirements as set out in the College documentation relating to the research awards.
