2008 Training Fees

Annual Training fees are due on:

• 31 January 2008 for all countries except Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia
• 30 June 2008 for Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia

See below for the table of fees and important changes to the fee schedule, starting in the 2008 Hospital Year.

• All fees are calculated excluding GST and where applicable GST is added to the base fee.

• The New Zealand Dollar amount is calculated to be equal to the Australian Dollar amount using the closing exchange rate two weeks prior to Council meeting.

• The standard New Zealand GST rate of 12.5% is reduced by the proportion of the service provided in Australia.

Changes to the Fee Payment Schedule

In the 2008 Hospital Year the College will be introducing a new schedule for payment of training fees.

This is designed to help keep track of where Trainees are in their training program, and to identify those who may have withdrawn from the program or have deferred their training.  The proposed fee schedule adheres more closely to the fee-payment procedures of most tertiary institutions.

The major changes are as follows:

1. Beginning in 2008, it will be assumed that Trainees who have started the ANZCA Training Program will continue in training unless they notify the College that they intend to defer their training.  Prior to the start of each hospital year, trainees will be notified by email and on the website of the annual training fee for that year.
   
   
2. The 2008 Annual Training Fee will be due on:
   
   • 31 January 2008 for Trainees in Australia and New Zealand and all other countries in non-ANZCA  regions.
   • 30 June 2008 for Trainees in Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia.
     
     
3. Trainees who are not in supervised training or who are 'taking a break' from training will be required to pay a Deferred Training Fee.  This will maintain registration, and ensures Trainees' access to the use of the Library and protected areas of the new website, as well as the ongoing receipt of the ANZCA Bulletin and other communications.
   
   
4. A BPay facility will be added for Australian-based trainees in 2008.
   
   
5. Training Fees for Singapore and Malaysia will now be payable in Australian dollars.
   
   
6. Trainees will have two months to pay their Annual Training Fee or Deferred Training Fee.  After two notifications of non-payment it will be assumed that they have withdrawn from the program.
   
   
7. Trainees in part-time training will be required to pay the full annual training fee.
   
   
8. Trainees will pay no more than five Annual Training Fees in the course of their training to Fellowship, but are required to pay Deferred Training Fees if they do not complete their training within five years.
