The Final Examination report for April/May 2008 is now available at:
http://www.anzca.edu.au/trainees/atp/final-examination/final-exam#primary-examination-reports
3. Approved Vocational Training Forms
It has come to our attention that trainees are submitting copies of their Approved Vocational Training Forms.
Trainees are required to forward the original, appropriately signed Approved Vocational Training Form and retain a copy for their records.
If you have sent in a copy of an Approved Vocational Training Form it will be held on file until receipt of the original and will then be processed.
These forms can be found at:
http://www.anzca.edu.au/trainees/trainee-forms/approved-vocational-training-form
4. Module Completion Dates
As specified on the Module Completion form the date that is required to be entered is the DATE OF COMPLETION OF THE MODULE not the date the form was signed.
Modules 1, 2, 3 and any one of 4-10 must be completed within Basic Training. Advanced Training cannot commence until all of the requirements of Basic training have been met, including Module completion.
Please ensure that the dates of completion on your Module Completion forms are correct.
Module Completion Forms can be submitted at the same time as Approved Vocational Training Forms. Theses forms are required to be signed by the Module Supervisor and/or the Supervisor of Training. And include the Hospital Name and ID Number.
Hospital ID numbers can be found at:
http://www.anzca.edu.au/trainees/hospital-accreditation
Trainees are also reminded to complete:
On-line self-assessment test to complete Module 2 Professional Attributes during Basic Training. Further information and application form can be found at http://www.anzca.edu.au/trainees/atp/curriculum/module-2/self-assessment-test/
On-line self-assessment test to complete Module 12 Professional Practice during Advanced Training. Further information and application form can be found at http://www.anzca.edu.au/trainees/atp/curriculum/module-12/sat/
5. ANZCA Training Program – Curriculum Review
As part of the College’s current strategy, the FANZCA Training Program is soon to undergo a major review. A review such as this is being undertaken to ensure that the curriculum remains contemporary, and that FANZCA Trainees are experiencing the highest quality teaching and learning opportunities and achieving optimal clinical competence. The current review is being initiated by the ANZCA Education Development Unit (EDU) in 2008, as a two-year project. To ensure that a relevant agenda, timeline and project framework is set for this review, ANZCA Council has convened a Curriculum Review Working Group (CRWG). The initial meeting of the CRWG is to be held on Thursday 14 August 2008 at ANZCA House in Melbourne; to develop and agree the overall agenda and framework for the review process.
The CRWG comprises:
- ANZCA EDU Staff;
- Fellows (from both Australia and New Zealand);
- Trainee Representatives (from both Australia and New Zealand);
- Government Representatives (from both Australia and New Zealand); and a
- Community Representative.
It is anticipated that the review will utilise various strategies to incorporate stakeholder opinions:
- An open, but structured, submissions process.
- A survey of all ANZCA Fellows and Trainees.
- Various focused methods to gather information from Fellows and Trainees (such as interviews, focus-groups and case-studies).
As key-stakeholders in the ANZCA Training Program your opinions will be sought at various stages through-out the curriculum review process. The College is committed to keeping you informed as this project progresses, so watch this space!
While there is no requirement for you to contact the College about the curriculum review at this stage, if you do have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact the Curriculum Review’s co-ordinator: Ms Claire Byrne, ANZCA Education Research and Evaluation Officer (cbyrne@anzca.edu.au).
