ANZCA Curriculum Revision 2013
The comprehensive review of the ANZCA curriculum resulted in the redesign of the curriculum and revision of the training program. The project was led by the Curriculum Redesign Steering Group and a series of curriculum authoring groups.
The outcomes of the review are included the ANZCA Curriculum Framework (download PDF) and Recommendations for Curriculum Change (download PDF).
Introducing the curriculum
The 2013 training program came into effect in Australia and New Zealand at the start of the 2013 hospital employment year.
For more information, access the overview of the curriculum revision 2013 brochure, read the program overview or visit the links relating to the trainee transition process and what the College is providing to support departments.
The revised curriculum
The curriculum articulates the structure of the revised program and the learning outcomes for each of the clinical fundamentals, ANZCA roles in practice and specialised study units. Access the curriculum here.
The curriculum defines the volume of practice requirements for cases and procedures and outlines how each learning outcome can be assessed, including the content of the primary and final examinations.
New primary exam
For trainees preparing for the new format primary examination, Appendix Three presents the primary examination learning outcomes.
