Continuing professional development

The following information relates to doctors undertaking the Specialist International Medical Graduate (SIMG) assessment process in Australia and SIMG who are undertaking the ANZCA fellowship pathway in New Zealand who were assessed prior to April 3, 2017. For SIMG undertaking the pathway for Vocational Registration in New Zealand, please contact the Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ) for information on your requirements.

Click here for CPD information for those specialist international medical graduates assessed after April 3, 2017.

All international medical graduate specialists (IMGS) accepted into the IMGS assessment process will be required to provide evidence of participation in a continuing professional development program (CPD) consistent with the ANZCA CPD standards. This evidence should be submitted to the College once you have completed all other requirements. Failure to comply with this requirement will result in a delay to completing your IMGS assessment process.

All IMGS are required to pay an annual clinical practice assessment fee, which will allow access to the ANZCA Continuing Professional Development Program. Should you choose to participate in another CPD program, please ensure it complies with the ANZCA CPD standards.

For further information on the CPD program please email the College on
