Election to fellowship

The ANZCA Council may consider applications from medical practitioners who are permanent residents in Australia or New Zealand for election to fellowship of the College without further assessment.

 

To be eligible for election to fellowship you must be a chair or full professor of anaesthesia employed or appointed full-time by a recognised university in Australia or New Zealand, or a full-time head or director of a department of anaesthesia of a hospital or clinical school in Australia or New Zealand that normally has university-appointed academics on its staff and is recognised by the ANZCA Council as a major teaching institution, provided that the applicant holds a qualification in anaesthesia acceptable to the ANZCA Council and is a practising clinical anaesthetist. If the applicant is resident overseas at the time of application, the professorial or directorial appointment must be formally in place within 52 weeks of the date of election to fellowship. Applicants must be permanent residents of Australia or New Zealand, or, if resident overseas at the time of application, be granted permanent residency status within 52 weeks of the date of election to fellowship.

 

Applications may be considered at any meeting of the ANZCA Council and should be submitted to the chief executive officer of the College 60 days prior to the meeting.
