Pandemic – COVID-19, where are we now?

Professor Benjamin Cowie is an infectious diseases physician and medical epidemiologist, holding appointments with the Victorian Infectious Diseases Service at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory at the Peter Doherty Institute for Infection and Immunity. He’s also the director of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Viral Hepatitis. Ben is currently the Acting Chief Health Officer in the Department of Health, Victoria.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Professor Cowie has supported the Victorian Government’s responses with a focus on community engagement, clinical care for people living with COVID-19, control of community transmission, and in helping establish Victoria’s COVID-19 vaccination program.
