Dr Sarah Hawkins

Dr Sarah Hawkins is rehabilitation physician in medicine, and works with patients with neurological conditions including concussion/traumatic brain injury and younger stroke patients in Canterbury, New Zealand.

Rehabilitation physicians develop long term relationships with their patients. Most specialities tend to focus on “the disease,” Rehabilitation focuses on the whole patient, their support and optimising function. Dr Hawkins aim to reintegration the patient back into their community.  

Outside of work, Sarah's garden challenges her, and her husband and herself have bees which they try to coax to stay in their hives and a couple of dogs left behind by the kids who have trained them to do their bidding.
