Dr Sarah Aitken

Dr Sarah Aitken is a vascular and endovascular surgeon at Concord Repatriation General Hospital, and a clinical academic at the University of Sydney. Dr Aitken is strongly involved in surgical education and is a member of the Board of Vascular Training and is passionate about improving surgical outcomes, with a focus upon ensuring that patients' concerns and needs remain central to clinical care. Dr Aitken is actively involved in clinical research especially related to the care of older patients with significant vascular disease, serving on numerous committees and international working groups. She is consultant lead for a number of student and registrar research collaboratives including the ANZVTN, and has been awarded a number of prestigious research grants, including the inaugural Royal Australian College of Surgeons Senior Lecturer Fellowship, a Vascular Foundation Grant and the University of Sydney John Brooke Moore Award.
