Dr Kathy McDonald

Dr Kathy McDonald is a General Practioner. She trained at Auckland Medical School and completed GP fellowship Edinburgh, Scotland.

She has worked continuously in Family Medicine for over 30 years, owning and running a large Rural medical centre to the West of Auckland.

For 20 years she also been working at Auckland Hospital as a GP liaison for Surgical services part-time, to assist at the interface of Primary with  secondary and tertiary care. It is here she developed an interest in Perioperative medicine working with Anaesthetists and Surgeons and I work towards educating GPs in this area ,as well as the Hospital as to what Primary care can offer in this space.

She is married to Dr Nigel Robertson, a senior Anaesthetist on the ANZCA committee. They have 3 children and live on a lifestyle block.
