Dr Anni Paasilahti

Dr Anni Paasilahti is an intensivist with a special interest in trauma and trauma induced coagulopathy. She had an instrumental role in developing guidelines and education when Mackay Base Hospital implemented ROTEM guided massive haemorrhage protocol in 2016 as the first regional centre in Queensland. Her background prior to emigrating to Australia in 2006 includes a long career in retrieval and emergency medicine.

Anni was the lead of the trauma service in Mackay from 2017 to the end of 2020. She is the local principal investigator in Feisty Jr trial, a multi centre pilot study into fibrinogen replacement in paediatric trauma population.
