Dr Raj Pachchigar received his medical degree at Flinders University of South Australia in 2007. He then moved to Brisbane where he continued to complete a dual fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine and Anaesthesia. Raj believes that medicine is a strong platform from which he can advocate for and progress sustainability in anaesthesia and healthcare. His position on both the TRA2SH Executive Council (Trainee-led Research and Audit in Anaesthesia for Sustainability in Healthcare) and the ANZCA ESN Executive Committee (Environmental Sustainability Network) have allowed him to lead by example and make small changes that will have big impacts on how we practice in the future. When not working, he enjoys taking his two young sons on hikes around Brisbane or pottering around in his garden and polishing up his green thumb.
