The Inaugural Tri-Society Cardiac & Thoracic Symposium 2022

In view of the recent events across Australia, and the growing Covid situation, the inaugural Tri-Society Cardiac & Thoracic Symposium (3SCTS) has been postponed to 9-12 March 2022.

It is the view of the 3SCTS Organising Committee that if the Symposium is held in November 2021, it will be very vulnerable to border closures, lockdowns, and a general lack of confidence from participants to travel to Cairns. The over-arching aim of this meeting is to hold it in person to increase collaboration and collegiality amongst the three societies.

The Organising Committee are confident, with Australia’s accelerated vaccine roll-out in the second half of 2021, the Symposium will be held successfully in March 2022. Registration and abstract submission will reopen shortly. Should you require any additional information in the meantime, please feel free to contact Symposium Organiser on +61 3 9249 1158 or via email.

The Inaugural Tri-Society Cardiac & Thoracic Symposium (3SCTS) “Back to the  Future: Lessons from the Past, Prospects for the Future” will be held at the Cairns  Convention Centre, Queensland, Australia, from 9 to 12 March 2022.

The 3SCTS will be a combined  scientific meeting of three societies - the Australian and New Zealand College of Perfusionists (ANZCP), the Australian and New Zealand Society of Cardiac & Thoracic Surgeons (ANZSCTS) and the Cardiac Thoracic Vascular and Perfusion Special Interest Group (CTVP SIG). In 2022, our Symposium will be held in conjunction with the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS) 2022 Workshop.

The 3SCTS 2021 will, for the first time, provide everyone involved in the management and treatment of cardiac and thoracic patients the opportunity to come together. It will be an excellent forum for the exchange of views, shared experiences and the latest scientific knowledge; enriching collaboration between surgeons, anaesthetists, perfusionists, and industry as well as providing opportunities for networking and the building of relationships internationally. We hope you can join us for this important collaboration.
