The Australian Government has been implementing a suite of changes in relation to opioid regulation since the beginning of the year. On 1 June, a number of changes to the PBS came into effect. As leaders in this space, Specialist Pain Medicine Physicians need to be aware of these changes and inform and influence current policy and future directions of opioid regulation in Australia.

This webinar aims to update Specialist Pain Medicine Physicians on the current PBS changes and will represent an opportunity to have online Q+A session with senior leaders within the Faculty and PBS. Using an innovative format, doctors will have access to pre-recorded lectures by Dean of the Faculty of Pain Medicine, A/Prof Michael Vagg and senior PBS representative, Ms Sophia Palmer, Acting Director of PBS Restrictions and Implementation Section. This will then be followed by an interactive Q+A panel session to further discuss these changes and the impact that these are having on patients and colleagues.

Subscribers will have access to a recording of this live stream and also the presentations to watch on demand for up to 12 months post the webinar.

We hope these discussions will form the basis of a further session at the FPM Symposium on 30 April 2021, where we can further explore the impact of these changes which have occurred during the most tumultuous period in recent history.
