2021 Tasmanian Winter Meeting

Join us for the 2021 Tasmanian Winter Meeting in Barnbougle, Tasmania.

Cross off the date in your calendar as you won't want to miss this meeting at beautiful Barnbougle where the theme explores "Links to the Future". Topics explore the challenges that the future holds in relation to paediatrics, the environment and sustainability, both on a personal and professional level.

Location and venue

The meeting will be held at Barnbougle with the conference dinner at Lost Farm. There is a free regular shuttle between the two venues that is only a five-minute ride.

The meeting space is small and intimate and will therefore have very limited places available.

Getting there
Barnbougle Tasmania is approximately one hour from Launceston and 90 minutes from Launceston airport.

Hire cars are available at the Launceston Airport.

Barnbougle is 278kms from Hobart and should take approximately three hours and 45 minutes to drive. It is 204kms from Burnie and is approximately two hours and 40 minutes away by car.

Invited speakers

We will have a great line-up of speakers from different specialties and disciplines to educate us on a variety of topics.

We would like to thank the FANZCA speakers and workshop facilitators who donate many hours of their time to organise, prepare and present at the regional ACE meetings.

Workshops

The meeting will include the following workshops:

  • Neonatal resuscitation breakfast workshop.

Social program

There will be plenty of social activities during the meeting if you wish to attend.

Meeting dinner, Saturday night
At the end of the meeting, enjoy the pre-dinner drinks with your colleagues while watching the sun set at Lost Farm. This directly overlooks Bass Straight with floor to ceiling windows providing an uninterrupted spectacular water view.  This is followed by a delicious three-course sit down meal that specialises in local wine and produce.

The dinner is included in the registration for delegates and separate tickets are available for guests.

Golf
Optional golf tournaments can be organised with other delegates either the day before or after the meeting. Full equipment is available for hire. It is recommended you book well in advance.

Delegates are requested to be considerate and respectful of the time and effort donated by speakers and organisers of the meeting and are kindly requested not to play golf during the conference on Saturday 21 August 2021.

There will be ample opportunities on the Friday 20 or Sunday 22 August 2021. Please contact the Tasmanian Regional Office if you would like assistance in organising this.

Cost and registration

Registration is now open.

If you have a College ID, you can register online. If not, please email us.

Registration will include a light breakfast for those booked into the breakfast workshop; morning and afternoon tea and lunch as well as the conference dinner.

All registration fees are quoted in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST.

*When registrations are full, you are invited to go on a 'waiting list' to attend. If regulations change and more delegates can attend, or if borders change and some delegates can no longer attend, those on the waiting list will be the first contacted. To request to go on the waiting list please email us.

Accommodation can booked at either Barnbougle or Lost Farm.

Rooms are available for either single, doubles or families. Please book your own accommodation and mention that you are attending the Winter Meeting on Saturday 21 August 2021.
