SA ACE Conference

Register now for the 2022 SA ACE Conference "Navigating the present, mapping the future" to be held at the Sanctuary, Adelaide Zoo on Saturday 24 September, 2022.

Hear from local and interstate experts during our sessions that will cover perioperative medicine, environmental sustainability and the latest in technology, techniques and devices. During the afternoon there will be two streams of small group discussions, allowing delegates the oppportunity to engage and share ideas in a relaxed, informal environment.

Invited speakers

We welcome ANZCA Immediate Past President Dr Vanessa Beavis and Associate Professor Ross Kerridge, senior staff anesthetist at the John Hunter Hospital and Associate Professor at the University of Newcastle who will discuss the evolution of perioperative medicine, its development as a healthcare model and its future as an integrated clinical specialty. Dr Peter Waterhouse is a consultant anaesthetist practicing in Brisbane and Chair of the ASA Perioperative Issues Advisory Committee who will provide an update on managed care and the implications for delivery of healthcare in Australia.

We also welcome Dr Scott Ma, ANZCA Councillor and Chair of the ANZCA Environmental Sustainability Network, who will speak on the work being undertaken to help reduce hospital and anaesthetic waste and improve sustainability, along with a great line-up of local speakers.

Call for research posters

We invite abstracts of research and audit work relevant to environmental sustainability in anaesthesia and healthcare for poster presentations at the meeting.  The three posters which are voted most exemplary will be selected for an oral presentation at the 2022 SA ACE Conference. The best judged poster will be awarded a $500 voucher and a certificate recognising the award.

Continuing Professional Development

Participants in the ANZCA and FPM CPD Program will automatically have their attendance accredited to their CPD portfolio within 14 days of the conclusion of the meeting.

This event is claimable by ANZCA and FPM CPD participants within the knowledge and skills and emergency responses categories.
Knowledge and skills activities
Lectures for one credit per hour. Workshops and small group discussions for two credits per hour.
