The FPM New South Wales Regional Committee invites you to the November CME evening meeting "Prescription monitoring then and now (so now what do I do?)".

We will be joined by guest speakers Dr Natasha Gisev who will present on the history of prescription monitoring services internationaly and in Australia, and Dr Bridin Murnion who will present a clinician's perspective on using Safescript as a tool to add value to a clinician's practice.

The evening meeting will be held at the ANZCA New South Wales regional office, 117 Alexander Street, Crows Nest.

Invited speakers

We are pleased to welcome the following speakers to the meeting:

  • Dr Natasha Gisev
  • Dr Bridin Murnion
  • Session and Q&A moderator – Dr Andrew Weiss.

Dr Gisev is a clinical pharmacist and Scientia Senior Lecturer at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre, UNSW Sydney. Her research interests lie in the use of big data and data linkage to evaluate medicines use and corresponding benefits/harms among populations with complex health care needs, including older adults and those with mental health and substance use disorders.
Dr Murnion completed undergraduate degrees at the University of Edinburgh in Pharmacology and Medicine. She holds fellowships FRACP, FFPMANZCA and FAChAM, and is a pain and Addiction Specialist working in Sydney Local Health District. She works closely with Pain Services to improve management in opioid tolerant and opioid dependent patients.

Registration is open to ANZCA and FPM fellows and trainees, and allied health professionals.

Registration includes drinks and canapes on arrival. All registration fees are quoted in Australian dollars and inclusive of GST.

Terms and conditions

Continuing professional development (CPD)

Participants in the ANZCA and FPM CPD Program will automatically have their attendance auto-populated to the pending folder in their CPD portfolio within 14 days of the conclusion of the meeting.

Knowledge and skills activities
Attendance will be auto-populated under 'Learning sessions' for for one credit per hour.

Delegates who are not participants of the ANZCA and FPM CPD Program should check with their respective colleges/providers regarding CPD. A certificate of attendance is available from the event organiser.
