CPD COVID-19 Update

Important information relating to COVID-19 and the ANZCA and FPM CPD Program.

The ANZCA and FPM CPD committee and team continue to hold regular discussions and consider all communications from regulatory authorities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We recognise the difficulties specialists may have accessing their usual channels and methods to undertake learning and development to meet CPD requirements.
 
Whilst, at this time no confirmed changes have been made to annual or triennial CPD requirements, the following additional resources have been developed:

Our unique triennial structure, whereby there are three active trienniums, requires a considered response to ensure all CPD participants are treated fairly. The pandemic’s duration remains unknown and will impact for when any decisions regarding changes to CPD requirements may be made.
 
The Committee have considered recent responses from the Medical Board of Australia (MBA) and Medical Council of New Zealand (MCNZ), and will continue discussions in context to our programme.
 
We encourage all CPD participants to use the mentioned resources to update their CPD portfolio, as best they can. We appreciate the importance is not on this administrative task of recording activities but on the doing - upskilling and learning in the areas needed to provide the best patient care.
