Ahpra data strategy – public consultation

22 December 2022

Help shape how Ahpra uses data to protect the public.

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra) is consulting on a draft data strategy. Ahpra holds, publishes and shares data (where legally allowed) about all registered health practitioners in Australia, including through the public register of health practitioners.

Ahpra is inviting feedback from health practitioners, employers and members of the public on the future uses of the data it collects and holds, including your views on:

  • Publishing additional information about health practitioners and their practice on the public register.
  • Sharing data to benefit the public (where legally allowed and while protecting practitioners’ privacy and confidentiality).
  • Using advanced analytics within a robust legal and ethical framework to help make regulation more efficient and effective.

On 20 January 2023, Ahpra is holding a webinar for registered health practitioners to learn more about the draft data strategy.

The consultation is open until 31 January 2023.

To learn more, to register for the webinar or to make a submission, visit the Ahpra website
